Derin Kocer is an Analyst at Oleka Capital and an Advisor at The Entrepreneurs Network.

Before joining Oleka, Derin led policy work at The Entrepreneurs Network, authoring the widely covered “Passport to Progress” framework for attracting global talent—earning attention in The Times, Financial Times, and the House of Commons.

He previously worked at Portland Communications and was selected as a Rising Leaders Fellow at the Aspen Institute UK. His experience spans public affairs, government advisory, and shaping high-level conversations on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Derin is a graduate King’s College London and Deutsche Schule Istanbul. He has been a commentator on international affairs since age 17, publishing in outlets such as T24, the New Statesman, and CityAM.

He lives in London with his Norwegian partner, is a fan of Galatasaray and Arsenal, and has managed a family investment portfolio since he was 18—regularly beating the S&P 500 and, legend has it, kicking out his father to live solo thanks to the proceeds. Derin is a fan of Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger.
